Monica Fung specializes in infectious diseases with a focus on patients with compromised immune systems, including those with solid organ or stem cell transplants. She serves as Clinical Director of the Transplant/Immunocompromised Host Infectious Diseases Program. She attends on the Immunocompromised Infectious Diseases Consult Services, and has clinics in the 360 Wellness Center and Infectious Diseases Faculty Practice at UCSF-Parnassus. Her research focuses the application of novel diagnostics and therapeutics to improve infections among transplant recipients. She directs the Transplant/Immunocompromised Host track within the UCSF Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program, and serves as a small group leader for the Pathogen Host Defense course in the School of Medicine.
