Mission and Goals
Building the Future of Infectious Disease Imaging
UCSF is a world leader in infectious disease and molecular imaging research and clinical care. CIDMI builds on this strength to create a rich transdisciplinary space for research and clinical implementation. A major goal is to obtain, grow, and share molecular imaging resources to facilitate inter-departmental and inter-institutional collaborations.
CIDMI leverages the unique depth of resources available at UCSF and partner institutions to:
Provide a forum for sharing novel ideas and findings
Obtain and share major project funding across participating investigators to facilitate infectious disease molecular imaging research
Support the mentorship and career development of junior investigators and students interested in infectious disease molecular imaging
Foster broad engagement in this rapidly growing, high-impact field
Enable the acquisition and implementation of instrumentation and other resources required to perform cutting-edge research
