Henry Wins Glenn Seaborg Award!

Two men in suits shake hands beside a concrete wall with a mounted plaque reading “The Biomedical Isotope Facility,” during what appears to be a dedication event, with people and tables visible in the background.
On August 30, 1996 Henry had the privilege of meeting Dr. Seaborg at the opening of the Biomedical Isotope Facility.

Congratulations to Henry VanBrocklin!

Henry VanBrocklin is the 2026 Glenn T. Seaborg Awardee for Nuclear Chemistry announced in Chemistry & Engineering News.

Henry will receive the award at the American Chemistry Society meeting in Atlanta in March 2026.

Henry was recognized for his outstanding contributions to radiopharmaceutical chemistry, which include:

  • Developing strategies for labeling radiotracers using short-lived radioisotopes, such as fluorine-18 and carbon-11.
  • Creating positron-labeled compounds for tumor imaging, including estrogens, progestins, and androgens.
  • Focusing his research on developing radiopharmaceutical probes for applications in Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) imaging.
